A Game of Thrones
I really loved this book and it kept me reading until the last page. I thought it was well written and reminded me of my other favorite series--The Wheel of Time. Martin takes historical ideas and creates a world that becomes real before your eyes. So many times people romanticize history and Martin tells a story with all of the gory details intertwined in a story that makes for incredible non-stop reading.
