Unique Book Lover

I have been actively reading books for over 28 years. I read about 200 books a year and buy way more than that when they are on sale. I have just started reviewing and writing books.

Currently reading

A Storm of Swords
George R.R. Martin
Outlander
Diana Gabaldon

A LIL' LESS HOPELESS (The Kingsmen M.C. Book 3)

A LIL' LESS HOPELESS (The Kingsmen M.C. Book 3) - Tara Oakes, Laura Classi I loved this book. I enjoyed the way this third book ended with a hit of what is to come in the next couple of books. As Lil' and Jay get married they find out that the relationship changes a little more as does their status. Can't stop reading...it will be a long wait for the next book.

A LIL' LESS LOST (The Kingsmen M.C. Book 2)

A LIL' LESS LOST (The Kingsmen M.C. Book 2) - Tara Oakes, Laura Classi This series continues to get deeper into the story and relationship that is building between Lil' and Jay. This time we hear from Jay's perspective more and it gives us an idea of how much she really means to him. A new couple is introduced and I can't wait to see where the future will take Clint and Charlie. There are still unanswered questions as the book ends that makes you have to start the next book in the series. Love this author.

A LIL' LESS BROKEN

A LIL' LESS BROKEN - Tara Oakes OMG!!! This book had me on the edge of my seat from the beginning. I was transported into a world that few outsiders know much about. The Motor Cycle Clubs have their own pecking order and way of doing things, which is why Lil' ran away. She didn't want to become part of the cycle that had ruined her family, but is drawn back in through a mistake that could cost her true love. As he fights to fix the damage her mistake has cost him personally and the club edges closer to a gang war, he realizes that it might be a losing battle. It ends on a cliff hanger so be prepared to buy the next book immediately.

Darkness Falls

Darkness Falls - Erin Kellison When I first started this book I wasn't sure where it was going to go. Then after I realized that this is what everyone dreams of, a way to live out your dreams while dreaming with no consequences. Ms. Kellison takes it further in that the dream world is closely tied to real life. In an effort to protect her sister, Jordan is forced to enter a world where there might not be a way out until she meets a chimera. This story kept me wondering what would happen next and I can't wait to pick up the next installment of the Reveler series.

A Clash of Kings

A Clash of Kings - George R.R. Martin I loved this sequel to a Game of Thrones. This book continues the story of the Stark family as they are split by four different kings vying for the throne of the Seven Kingdoms. I really enjoy the way that each family member has their own path to follow, but they all lead back to their upbringing and the family that they are far away from. The story ends with a cliff hanger as you cheer for Bran and his brother Rick to make it safely to someone that will help them survive the horrors of war. When I finished this book, I immediately went and started the next one. I highly recommend this series.

Learning to Trust

Learning to Trust - Cynthia P. O'Neill I purchased this after a re-release of the series event. As I started reading I quit worrying about event because I was so caught up in the story. I loved the way that the main male character had to gain her trust, but was the first one to betray that trust. Deep down she really trusts him because in a moment of life or death she turns to him. This book was wonderful for beginners in the bedroom and was working up to more when the book ended. Now I have to have the next one to read this weekend. Great job on the suspense and amazing story line.

The Void Unit: Shadows on the Wall

The Void Unit: Shadows on the Wall - Maxwell A. Paris I was very privileged to read this book in the early stages and was completely blown away. I had no idea what genre it was until the story started to unfold. Paranormal fiction is very difficult to get right on the first try, but this author definitely pulled it off.

Ethan was a new/rookie cop and answers a call that sends him into a world that most humans only dream about. The story draws you into the emotions of The Void Unit until you are unable to put the book down because you cannot leave the characters in such dangerous situations. As a semi-military unit, they come to trust and rely on each other in the absence of their families.

Ethan's sister is not as convinced that he has disappeared without a trace. She convinces the police that they should search for him, but is caught in an underground fight/ bidding arena. Holding out hope that she will be rescued, the story takes some unexpected turns. Those who seemed to be the most trustworthy are hiding behind a mask that the Unit is ready to expose.

Maxwell A. Paris does an amazing job on her debut book. I closed the book, screaming, NOOOOOO....when will the next one be out?

Prince in Exile: Book Two

Prince in Exile: Book Two - H.J. Bradley OMG!!! This book was amazing and takes an interesting look at the way a true relationship can grow to include more people if done right. I loved that they are running for their lives in the wake of a political coup, yet they still manage to make growing strides in their relationship. Can't wait for book # 3 to come out because I need to know what happens to this love triangle.

Prince in Exile

Prince in Exile - H.J. Bradley I loved this book, there is so much passion behind the decisions that the Prince makes knowing each one effects those he loves as well as his country. There is so much detail, that you feel like you are right there with the characters. I can't believe that this author hasn't been discovered because she writes an amazing story that simply draws you in until the last page. At the last page I was wanting more....

Sister Warriors

Sister Warriors - Lisa Marie Main This book was filled with great action and a great story. I was disappointed in chapter 18-19 where it seemed to skip whole parts and a major part of the story was missing. I think this story has a lot of interesting research and depth to the background, but had a little trouble with sentence structure that would have kept the story flowing more clearly. I would certainly read more books from this author. She has great ideas and could be a best seller with a little bit of work.

Winning Jewels

Winning Jewels - Airicka Phoenix I loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't wait to finish it. Morgana takes a calm summer romance and adds a twist of danger and suspense. While protecting the children in her care, she is swept into a situation that escalates ending with an unexpected death. When you pick it up to read make sure that you have enough time to finish it in one sitting.

A Game of Thrones

A Game of Thrones - George R.R. Martin I really loved this book and it kept me reading until the last page. I thought it was well written and reminded me of my other favorite series--The Wheel of Time. Martin takes historical ideas and creates a world that becomes real before your eyes. So many times people romanticize history and Martin tells a story with all of the gory details intertwined in a story that makes for incredible non-stop reading.

Paranormal Protection Agency

Paranormal Protection Agency - Mina Carter This book is filled with five little nuggets of reading. I was surprised to find that is was more of an erotica than a detective mystery. The unexpected twist kept me reading until the end of each story. I definitely recommend this as a short story read.

Forbidden Awakening

Forbidden Awakening - Melinda Hale I was given this book for an honest review by lovers of paranormal group. On a scale of 1-10 it was a solid 4. The story itself was interesting, but could have been written better. It seemed like the author was trying to take a YA book and make into an erotica with a vampire twist. There was real potential for an amazing book it really needed more than an outline summary. There were no grammatical errors, but the sentence phasing was distracting. I would read the next book by her because it left you wanting to know how things were going to end with the Awakening.
